Philosophy
BJL Connecting Communities reflects the philosophical view that the basic guiding purpose of good community development is to enhance humanity.
We believe that it is a conscientious practice for social transformation through creating the community’s capacity through ownership based on principles of participation, partnership and empowerment.
The basic principles of this ideology are a commitment to social justice, active citizen engagement in creating community well-being, and the capacity to participate effectively in these processes, meet their personal needs and those of their families, work in partnership with others and engage in civil society.
Good community development practice therefore seeks to enhance the capacity of individual, groups and communities in the constant search for that ideal.
